Flora and fauna perfectly mirror landscape variety: from typically forest-dwelling species, like Red deer (kyrg., “maral”), Siberian Roe deer (“elik”) and Black grouse (“karakur”), to those characteristic of lake and river environments, as the fascinating Ibisbill (“ördök tümshük”). Staring with your binoculars among peaks and glaciers, it will not be too difficult to sight Ibex (“too teke”) and during your trekking, you can try to follow the path of one of the almost mythological Snow leopard (“ilbirs”) living here. Chong Kemin Valley is a perfectly preserved ecosystem, which is confirmed by the incredible number of super predators and necrophagi, as the several species of Eagle (“bürküt”), Lammergeier (“kök giorü”), Cinereous vulture (“taz kara”) and Griffon (“kumai”) that could spread their wings at short distance from you whilst riding a horse on the mountains. A 5-minutes walk on the meadows is enough to meet the astounding amount of flower species embroidering the green carpet: and what about the Edelweiss that will welcome you to Kok Oirok?.
