The Chong Kemin Valley lies one hundred and fifty kilometers from Bishkek (the capital). You can reach the park by airplane and car: you can flight to Bishkek and then you have to take a bus or rent a car.
Chon Kemin Valley by Marshrutkas
Marshrutkas are small busses of the Kyrgyz public transport. They have no more than 15 places each, but usually 20 or more people travel on them. This is the best way (even maybe not the most comfortable!) to discover Kyrgyzstan: you will experience true Kyrgyz life style and get to know many people, for sure!
The trip lasts 2.30 hours.
Fare:
100 som Bishkek-Chong Kemin or Chong Kemin-Bishkek
5 som for moving within Chong Kemin Valley
Timetable:
the first bus leaves from Bishkek at 10 a.m. and the last one at 5 p.m.
the first bus leaves from Chong Kemin at 7 a.m. (Karol Doboo timetable) and the last one at 4-5 p.m
The timetable is actually not so alwaysh reliable: there can be many changes according to different situations. For more accurate information ask the guest houses managers or sales people in the magazins (little shop) on the way: they got the most update information!
